4P-cresol is de grondstof voor de productie van de antioxidant 2,6-di-tert-butyl-p-cresol en van het anti-aging middel rubber.het is ook een belangrijke basisgrondstof voor de productie van farmaceutische TMP en kleurstof clistidine sulfoninezuur.
5. P-cresol is een tussenproduct van het fungicide tolclofosmethyl, het insecticide fluvaleraat en etofenprox, alsook van het antioxidantadditief 2,6-di-tert-butyl-4-methylfenol en p- tussenproduct van hydroxybenzaldehyde.
6De grondstof voor de vervaardiging van antioxidant 264 (2,6-di-tert-butyl-p-cresol) en rubber antioxidant.
7- Wordt gebruikt als desinfectiemiddel in de geneeskunde.
